Load a board that fits the job
Assign WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, and other supported audio files to independent slots. Multiple sounds can play together instead of forcing every cue into one exclusive channel.
SBXAPC
Turn an APC Mini into a standalone soundboard. SBXAPC puts sample playback, microphone recording, and hands-on volume control into a focused Windows application.
The reason it exists
Sometimes a full production session is more setup than the job needs. SBXAPC is built around a direct relationship: one controller pad, one sample slot, and immediate playback from the hardware or its on-screen counterpart.
The 8×8 layout keeps the soundboard recognizable. Column and master faders control levels, while stop controls make it possible to interrupt a pad, a group, or the entire board when the moment changes.
Inside the project
Assign WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, and other supported audio files to independent slots. Multiple sounds can play together instead of forcing every cue into one exclusive channel.
Capture the default microphone directly into a slot. The same board used for playback becomes a quick place to collect a voice line or a fresh sound.
The documented shared LED palette distinguishes empty, loaded, playing, and recording states. The on-screen grid mirrors the controller’s top-to-bottom arrangement.
Save a setup together with its sample folder and volume settings. Relative sample paths keep the board portable when the complete setup folder moves to another PC.
From intention to action
Use the APC Mini in Ableton Live mode.
Assign samples or record a pad.
Trigger sounds and ride the faders.
Keep the board and its audio together.
Engineering notes
The application uses C#/.NET with NAudio for audio and DryWetMidi for MIDI input and output. Controller detection can pick up a device connected after launch. The public project documents a self-contained Windows build for portable use.
